When it comes to older network TV shows that experienced a major revival on streaming, no show has benefited as much as The Office. The Office was massively popular when it was airing on NBC between 2005 and 2013, but it wasn’t until the show was added to Netflix a few years after it went off the air that it jumped into the upper atmosphere and became one of the most popular TV shows of all time. All the way back in 2021, Netflix announced that it had lost the rights to The Office as they had been acquired by Peacock, and the show jumped to NBC’s streaming platform at the start of the year. The Office has found a home on Peacock in the years since, as it is consistently one of the platform’s most-watched shows, and it has even branched out with multiple spin-offs.
The latest and most successful spin-off from the world of The Office is The Paper, which aired in September last year. On the same day that all episodes of The Paper began streaming on Peacock, the streamer announced that the show had been picked up for Season 2, but updates about the series’ sophomore season have been quiet for a while now. Until today, when Peacock officially unleashed the first 10 images from The Paper Season 2, also confirming that the show will return to streaming on September 9. Similar to Season 1, Peacock is dropping all episodes of The Paper Season 2 as a binge — this was controversial when it was announced for Season 1, but most fans now agree that the binge model works best for the mockumentary style series.
