All eyes are on Suicide Squad, David Ayer‘s hugely anticipated DC adaptation, following the catastrophe that was Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Jared Leto‘s performance as The Joker will be weighed heavily against battle-tested, heralded performances by Jack Nicholson and the late Heath Ledger, the latter of which would have to be the best performance ever given in any comic book movie. There’s also … Continue reading ‘Suicide Squad’ Runtime Revealed!!
DC’s Suicide Squad is just a bunch of “Heathens,” as witnessed by Twenty One Pilots. Featured on the film’s upcoming soundtrack, the band tours Belle Reve prison and pokes their heads in on the inmates in the music video for their new song. Also featured is new footage from the film. While they only consist of brief snippets — mostly recycled material — we do see more of … Continue reading ‘Suicide Squad’: Twenty One Pilots Music Video Tours Belle Reve Prison!! Check It Out!!
When it comes to Suicide Squad, I really like the color scheme they’ve used on these posters. It’s also interesting to see how they’re utilizing the Joker as a standalone presence on the advertising even though moviegoers who aren’t familiar with the property might be a little baffled by the smiling visage, and since this is such a radical take on the character they might not … Continue reading New Posters for ‘Suicide Squad’ and ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ Arrive!! Suicide Squad may have the strangest, most unique aesthetic of any superhero movie on the market, and isn’t that just fitting for a David Ayer (Fury) helmed actioner that swaps the good guys for a roster of superpowered villains. Since it’s such an odd duck, it’s hard to know what to make of Suicide Squad so far. It’s a writer-director driven comic book adaptation from … Continue reading ‘Suicide Squad’ Puts Harley Quinn Front and Center in Explosive New Poster!! Check It Out!!

It’s a little hard to believe, but Suicide Squad will be in theaters in less than two months. It seems like just yesterday rumors were swirling that Warner Bros. was considering a feature film adaptation of the niche comic, and now one Batman v Superman and plenty of reshoots drama later, Suicide Squad is almost upon us. Last night during the NBA Finals game, two … Continue reading ‘Suicide Squad’: New TV Spots Let the Bad Guys Out to Play; Violence Ensues!! Check It Out!!
The nation is still getting over the passing of Muhammad Ali, arguably the politically active and fervently unique sports icon to ever exude his athletic skill and prowess in front of cameras. His forceful talents in the ring remain entirely undeniable, but it’s just as important to remember the man as a tremendous performer, a passionate speaker, and a fearless activist against everything from racism to … Continue reading Michael Mann’s Muhammad Ali Biopic Is Returning to Theaters This Weekend!!
Fans hoping that the success of Deadpool might mean we’d get an R-rated Suicide Squad may find themselves disappointed this morning. Per Box Office Mojo, writer/director David Ayer’s villain-centric DC Extended Universe film has officially been rated PG-13 for “sequences of violence and action throughout, disturbing behavior, and suggestive content and language.” So yeah, while the film won’t be rated R, the description certainly suggests it’s going to be pushing the … Continue reading ‘Suicide Squad’ Officially Gets PG-13 Rating!!
Today, we’ve got a few offbeat Suicide Squad odds and ends to get your fix of Warner Bros. next entry into the DCEU. Centered on the titular team of superpowered (and largely insane) villains, the film follows the “Skwad” when they’re let out of lock-up for a do-good mission that’s all but guaranteed to get them killed. Despite the fact that the film has been in promo … Continue reading Check Out ‘Suicide Squad’New Posters and Promo And Get Weird with It!!

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is many things, but it is not fun to watch. It’s a movie steeped in darkness, and any brief moment of levity is like a ray of sunshine breaking through a hurricane of despair. It’s a movie you endure rather than enjoy, and if people are going to see a blockbuster film, they tend to want something that might … Continue reading ‘Suicide Squad’ Getting Reshoots to Bring Levity to the DC Extended Universe!!

David Ayer knows cop movies. As the screenwriter of films such as “Training Day,” and “S.W.A.T.,” and the director of “Street Kings,” “Sabotage,” and “End Of Watch,” the filmmaker knows the milieu of those who wear the badge, and are sometimes corrupted by it, inside and out. And it’s a subject he certainly hasn’t grown tired of as he’s lining up a new movie that … Continue reading Will Smith and Joel Edgerton to star in David Ayer’s fantasy cop film Bright!!
We’re only a few weeks from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but if we want to look a little further down the road, we can see the next DC movie, Suicide Squad, on the horizon.
